The Synod of Orthodox Bishops of the Western Rites exists to
provide a spiritual home with in Orthodoxy for those of Western
European descent who desire to live out the faith and practices
of the ancient and undivided church in the Western liturgical
traditions.
We worship according the liturgical rites of the Church as they
existed in pre-schism Rome, Milan and England, in the vernacular
(the language of the people).
Most people notice that our Divine Liturgy, or Mass, is similar to
that of the Roman catholic church before the changes after the Second
Vatican Council.

Our particular synod allows for a
Married Clergy,
including the episcopate in the tradition of the ancient
church and in the spirit of restoration promoted and practiced
by Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh.
We have also restored the ancient Office of
Deaconess
which existed in the Early Church as witnessed to in both
Scripture and Tradition and as restored in modern times by the
Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Pentapolis & Aegina Saint
Nectarios.
